Just over three hours from Savannah lies Myrtle Beach. As one of the most family-friendly cities along South Carolina’s Atlantic Coast, this is the perfect stop for those looking for affordable beach hotels.
The premiere attraction here is the beach, with 60 miles of coastline and a huge range of activities on the shore. The sand is packed hard enough to ride on, and the water invites snorkelers, swimmers, and scuba divers. Ocean City
Ocean City is an eight-hour drive from Myrtle Beach, though if this proves too long, you could stop overnight in Nags Head to break up the drive. Originally built in 1902, it’s now a permanent walkway that runs for 5 miles and is popular for long walks, cycling, and rollerblading.
