Arizona is one of the best vacation destinations for travelers of all kinds. The state offers warm climates, beautiful nature, a plethora of outdoor activities and tremendous forms of entertainment, including sporting events, plays, musical performances, concerts and more.

Planning a trip to the Grand Canyon State? Here are some of the best events and activities to experience during your visit here.

Sporting Events

Arizona is one of the best places to visit if you’re a diehard sports fan, as the state carries professional sports teams in each of the “big four” leagues (NFL, MLB, NBA and NHL) to go along with its many popular college teams.

This year, the Super Bowl is taking place in Arizona, making the BetMGM Arizona bonus code a good option to try your luck at picking this year’s winner. Customers who sign up for BetMGM Arizona right away will receive a “First Bet Offer” of up to $1,000.

Super Bowl 57 will be played at State Farm Stadium in Glendale on Feb. 12. This is the third Super Bowl event that will take place inside the venue, as State Farm Stadium also hosted Super Bowl 42 (New York Giants vs. New England Patriots) and Super Bowl 49 (Patriots vs. Seattle Seahawks).

The Cardinals will begin their 2023 NFL regular season in September, and it will run through early Jan. 2024. So if you’re a sports fan visiting Arizona during that four-month span, you should have a Cardinals game near the top of your to-do list.

The NHL’s Arizona Coyotes and NBA’s Phoenix Suns are in the midst of their 2022-23 regular season, which run through mid-April. The Coyotes play their home games at Mullett Arena which is located at Arizona State University in Tempe, and the Suns play their games at Footprint Center in Phoenix.

The Arizona Diamondbacks of Major League Baseball will open their season on the road against the Los Angeles Dodgers. But tourists visiting Arizona in February and March can check out MLB spring training games that take place across the Copper State.

Spring training games are played in various cities across the states of Florida and Arizona. The American Family Fields of Phoenix (in Phoenix), Sloan Park (in Mesa), Scottsdale Stadium (in Scottsdale) and Surprise Stadium (in Surprise) are among the popular baseball venues that bring plenty of locals and visitors out for a ballgame.

Outdoor Activities & Grand Canyon

If you’re into outdoor sports/activities like mountain biking, hiking, swimming and kayaking, you’ll be overwhelmed by all the options here.

The Black Canyon Trail at the Prescott National Forest, the Desert Trails Bike Park in Mesa, Papago Park in Phoenix, Camelback Mountain (also in Phoenix) and the Campbell Mesa Loop at the Coconino National Forest in Flagstaff offer outdoor enthusiasts five-star hiking and mountain biking experiences.

One of America’s most popular and well-known tourist attractions, the Grand Canyon brings several million visitors annually. The canyon, estimated to be 5 to 6 million years old, is a whopping 277 miles in length and about 18 miles in length.

Grand Canyon is an ideal location for outdoor enthusiasts because it offers a plethora of recreational activities — including biking trails, hike trails, helicopter tours and rafting.

There are plenty of camping areas/campgrounds around the Grand Canyon as well, making things all the more convenient if you wish to spend several days there.

Golf Courses

Arizona attracts countless golfers across the world annually for obvious reasons. Some of America’s most prestigious golf courses are located right here in the Copper State, for starters.

Many Canadians and Americans who live in colder regions love visiting Arizona during the winter so they can enjoy the sunshine and year-round golf. And if you’re in Arizona during early February, you might get the opportunity to see the annual Phoenix Open, which is held annually at TPC Scottsdale.

Some of the other more highly-regarded golf courses that are open to the public include the Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club (in Maricopa), the Stonecreek Golf Club (in Phoenix), the We-Ko-Pa Golf Club (in Fort McDowell) and the Quintero Golf Club (in Peoria).

There are several golf packages available as well, so you can play at multiple luxurious courses at a discounted rate. You may wish to check some of these packages out, depending on where you’re staying in Arizona
